Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you're celebrating or not, I hope you've had a lovely day nonetheless. Valentine's Day has always struck me as a bit of an odd holiday, and, as I blogged about at Aesthetic Online over the weekend, it's probably one of the most divisive days in the calendar. Over the last few weeks I'm sure you'll have noticed a distinct Valentine's theme running across a lot of the high street, with hearts festooning lots of fashion pieces and plenty of pretty chocolates proving a temptation which is almost too difficult to resist (I'm looking at you M&S!) Anyway, in an attempt to get into the spirit of the day, my outfit from earlier featured a relatively recent heart shaped purchase:
Blouse- Markus Lupfer for Whistles
Markus Lupfer's collaboration with Whistles was one of the most coveted designer-on-the-high-street ranges of last year, and I for one was eager to snap up some of his bold prints and kooky accessories. However, with the craziness of Christmas (and a walloping great tax decuction from my December pay packet!), the range somehow passed me by. However, after popping into the Covent Garden store a few weeks or so ago, low and behold I saw this blouse, reduced to half price in the end of season sale. Given that the last one in the shop was a size six (!!!), I was expecting to walk away empty handed, but after trying it on I was really surprised that it fit! Believe me when I say that I've never been a size six in my life, so put this shopping success down to some very generous sizing and an oversized cut! Teamed with some basic jeans and pumps, it seemed like a really appropriate piece to wear today, although I'm determined to make use of it more than just once a year!
How have you spent your day?
